all the glory, none of the stickiness.
caramel apples are amazing, but they're such a pain in the rear to eat. this shake takes all the best parts of the caramel apple, and blends them up into creamy autumnal deliciousness. i couldn't find any caramel at the store, so it had to be made from scratch. thank goodness this salted caramel recipe comes out perfectly every time. keep a spoon nearby to help scrape up all the caramel and nuts.
caramel apple milkshake:
- vanilla ice cream
- quality apple juice or cider
- caramel sauce
- cinnamon
- toasted chopped nuts
preparation:
- for each serving, use about twice as much ice cream as apple juice. the one photographed had about 4 scoops of ice cream and 1/2 cup juice. add a dash of cinnamon to the blender and blend it all up until smooth.
- drizzle caramel on the sides of the glass. pour in shake, add another drizzle of caramel, and the toasted nuts.
you could go crazy and add whipped cream to this- i won't stop you. peanut butter would probably be good to. and if you want to get boozy, a shot of bourbon in there is heavenly.
