point dume in malibu is the setting for the climactic scene in the original Planet of the Apes. it also happens to be where vincent price's ashes are scattered. if it's good enough for chaz heston and vincent price, then it's good enough for me. it was overcast, but the sun came out for a bit and the beach was beautiful. we climbed on the crumbled boulders, dipped our toes in the water, saw enormous tangles of seaweed, and hiked up the cliff. so nice to finally meet the pacific ocean.
