things to do: mini golf
battening down the hatches at putt putt.
ocean city maryland has no shortage of thematic mini golf courses. thanks to rain, the decision was made for us: undersea adventure was the only one near us that was indoor. it was also one of the best i've ever played- skeletons, mermaids, oceanic murals, several species of sharks, water features, a scuba diver attached to a lunar landing module (?).
there was even a huge submarine that had a hole inside:
we saw a girl rocket her ball into the side of the sub at mach speed by putting a little too much pepper on her swing during a hilly hole. on closer inspection, the dimpled sub showed that this was a frequent problem.
not only was the course fraught with animatronics and water traps, but around every corner was something with sharp teeth giving you the hairy eyeball. the kid in front of us almost lost his britches when a sea serpent darted onto the green.
in the end, i lost by 1 point- still under par though! and still making me regret not pursuing a career in mini golf course design.
