log cabin quilt: block 16

16 down! remember when this was supposed to be the end?
the last time this stripe was used, it was in a bright, la-lakersesque block. the purple wool really brought out the magenta in the stripe. this time around i went with navy as the supporting color and got a much cleaner classic look.
- red silk satin
- navy velvet
- magenta/navy striped silk
- natural linen
- white corduroy
this block is one of the classiest of the bunch. it's more sophisticated than most of the others. i'm really looking forward to finishing this quilt, now that there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
