log cabin quilt: block 8

8 down. many more to go.
this is the block that almost killed me. after a long battle with some cobalt silk velvet, i had to rip 90% of apart and start over again with another fabric. the silk stripe was reinforced the same way as block 5.
- red silk satin
- navy velvet
- green, navy, yellow silk stripe
- tan, gold dot cotton twill
- mustard tropical wool
i'm so glad i persevered- this might be my favorite block yet. i broke one of the original guidelines for picking fabrics (this has 2 prints), but i won't be losing any sleep over it.
