Vintage Crewel Kit: Squirrel 3

The colors included in this crewel kit are confounding. Who's ever seen a branch that's grey and mustard? And this one was a close finish- only about 3" of mustard yarn left when it was done. I could take the blame for it though, because again I didn't follow the instructions and filled the designated area with chain stitches.
Once the tension of knowing there was enough yarn had subsided, it was obvious that the right choice was made. It looks great. All that's left is to outline it, and then onto the meat of this needlework. My sites are set on that tail...
